We are seeking a Robotics Engineer with a background in software development and embedded systems. You will contribute to the development and integration of our sensor and compute platforms across various deployment domains, including automotive, off-road, and aerial applications.
This role is the technical backbone of our field operations. The ideal candidate works at the intersection of software and hardware, across subsystems and disciplines such as sensors, drivers, networking, time synchronization, calibration, wiring, and electronics.
Develop, manage, and maintain Perciv AI’s automotive, off-road, and aerial platforms for R&D data collection and high-profile customer demonstrations.
Develop and maintain ROS 2 drivers for various sensing hardware, and integrate and mount 2D and 3D sensors on vehicles and robots.
Develop networking architectures across both hardware and software. This includes networking hardware, time synchronization protocols, Linux tooling, and Docker network configuration.
Plan and execute dataset recording campaigns to capture high-quality, synchronized sensor data for perception model training.
Perform electrical and mechanical integration, including power management, wiring, 3D printing, and rapid prototyping.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Machine Learning, or a related field (must-have)
Hands-on experience integrating sensing hardware or related embedded systems at both the hardware and software levels (must-have)
Hands-on experience with Linux networking and time synchronization, or a strong willingness and ability to develop expertise in these areas (must-have)
Familiarity with ROS 2 and Docker (must-have)
Valid European driving licence (must-have)
Currently living in the EU (must-have); preferably in the Netherlands
Hands-on experience designing and building software or hardware that operates as part of a larger, complex physical system
Experience with PCB design and/or embedded software development
Experience with mechanical design using CAD tools
Experience with rapid prototyping techniques such as 3D printing and basic metalworking
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Clear communication and strong collaboration skills
Proactive mindset and comfortable working in a dynamic startup environment
